Smithland, Iowa- Paul “Pete” Worrell, 72, of Smithland died Friday, February 24, 1995, at the Pleasant View Nursing Home in Whiting, Iowa.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Mapleton, Iowa, with the Rev. Charles Adams officiating. Burial will be in the Little Sioux Township Cemetery in Smithland. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, with a prayer service at 7 p.m. at the Willman Funeral Home in Rodney, Iowa.

He was born November 30, 1921, in Salix, the son of a Raymond and Abbie (Madsen) Worrell. He assisted Franz, Herluf and Wayne Kafton in their farming operations for 37 years. He was employed with Rohlin Asphalt of Estherville for three years before retiring. He was a lifelong resident of Smithland before entering the nursing home in 1993.

Mr. Worrell was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Mapleton.

Survivors include a brother and his wife, Arthur R. and Mollie of Smithland; two sisters, Evelyn Horner of Mapleton, and Margaret and her husband Robert Bueoy of Smithland and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Clifford “Casey”.
