Minor, Martin L. 1921 - 1990

Martin L. Minor, 68, rural Jefferson, S.D., died Saturday (Feb. 10, 1990) at a Sioux City hospital following a brief illness.

Services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Anderson funeral home in Elk Point. Rev. Donald Greenough officiated. Burial was in the Elk Point Cemetery. A prayer service was held Monday night at the funeral home.

Pallbearers were Derrall Minor, Frank Minor, Jessie Minor, John Damrau, Dennis Minor and Harry Minor.

Mr. Minor was born Sept. 27, 1921, at Grass Range, Montana to Frank and Verlia (Streeter) Minor. He resided in South Dakota and Nebraska, moving to Jefferson in 1938. He was employed with various construction companies in Sioux City and also farmed in rural Jefferson, retiring in 1984. He was a Methodist. He was a member of Labor Union 427 in Sioux City, and the Eagles Lodge Aerie 77 in Sioux City.

Survivors include three brothers and sisters-in law, Ray and LaVonne Minor of Kinta, Okla., Fay and Georgana Minor and Clifford and Junice Minor, all of Jefferson, S.D.; one sister and brother-in-I.; many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents;, two brothers, Ted and Bob; and one sister, Hazel Thompson Carlson.
