Loren L. Bryson, 74, of Hawarden, Iowa, died Wednesday (Jan. 31, 1990) in a Sioux City hospital.

Services were held at 11 a.m. Feb. 3 in the United Methodist Church in Hawarden. Rev. Paul Hansen officiated. Burial was in Grace Hill Cemetery under direction of Porter-Dow Funeral Home in Hawarden.

Mr. Bryson was born Nov. 1, 1915, in Hawarden and graduated from Hawarden high school in 1936. He married Laura Haddican Dec. 2, 1939, in Rock Rapids. He served in the U.S. Army with the First Division in Central Europe from March 1944 until January 1946. He was a foreman with the Milwaukee Railroad in Hawarden until his retirement in 1976. Mr. Bryson was a member of United Methodist Church, American Legion, Brotherhood of Maintenance of Way Employees, and Sioux County Council on Aging.

Survivors include his wife, Laura; two sons, Charles and his wife, Glenda of Schleswig and Douglas and his wife, Karla of Sioux City; a daughter, Edith and her husband, Larry McKee of Hawarden; two sisters, Mrs. William (Claire) Barnum of Hawarden and Mrs. Arthur (Ella Mae) Vande Pol of Watertown, S.D.; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
