Darrell A. Metz

Darrell A. Metz, 74, of Sioux City died Saturday, Dec. 30, 2000, at a Sioux City hospital following a brief illness.

Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. Dick Dahle of First Lutheran Church officiating. The body was cremated. Burial will be at a later date in Logan Park Cemetery. There will be no visitation.

Mr. Metz was born May 7, 1926, in Sioux City, the son of Fred G. and Marie C. (Will) Metz. He attended Sioux City schools. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He was employed with Getz Buick, Salsness Buick and Condon Buick.

He attended First Lutheran Church and was a former member of the Masonic Lodge.

Survivors include a brother and his wife, Elvin and Dorothy Metz of Sioux City; a special friend, Shirley Klemmensen of Sioux City; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Gordon and Fred Metz; and two sisters, Dorothy Preston and Kathryn Kirkpatrick.
