Kenneth L Wych

Kenneth L. Wych, 66, of Sioux City died Tuesday, June 30, 1992, at a Sioux City hospital after a short illness. He is a brother of Joe Wych of Akron.

Services were held Friday at Morningside Lutheran church with Rev. Steven Dornbusch officiating. Burial was in Sunset View cemetery, Washta, under direction of Christy Morningside Funeral Home.

Mr. Wych was born Jan. 13, 1926, on a farm west of Washta, the son of George H. and Nettie M. Wych. He graduated from Grand Meadow Consolidated School at Washta in 1943. He served two years in the U.S. Army Infantry in the U.S., Europe and Japan from 1944 to 1946. He was involved in the Battle of the Bulge in Germany in 1945. He moved to Sioux City in 1964. He was a self-employed carpenter in the Washta/Quimby area, and owned and operated Ken's Produce at Washta for 10 years. At Sioux City he was in sales for a construction supply sales company, retiring in 1988. He was a member of the Washta United Methodist church, where he had served as a Sunday school superintendent and a church board member.

Survivors include two daughter, Mrs. Don (Judy) Kelly of Bella Vista, Ark., and Mrs. James (Janne) Green of Springdale, Ark.; two sons and their wives, James and Sandra of Sioux City and Jon and Lori of Amarillo, Tex.; two brothers and their wives, Paul and Feme of Washta and Joe and Marge of Akron; two aunts, Sarah Anne Erskine of Sioux City and Eva Mizony of El Cajon, Calif.; five grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; five nephews and a niece.
