J. R. Walding

John R. (Dick) Walding, 78, Sioux City,
died Sunday at a Sioux City hospital after a
long illness.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m.
Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic church.
Rev. Thomas Walding, a nephew, from
Remsen, will officiate. Burial will be in
Calvary cemetery under direction of the
Larkin funeral home.

Mr. Walding was born July 7,1892, at
Sioux City. He married Loretta
O'Shonessy June 14,1917, at Sioux City.

He was employed by the Great
Northern Railroad for a number of years
and later by the water department of the
city of Sioux City, retiring in 1957.

Survivors are his wife; three sons, John
M., Richard J. and Edward J., all of Sioux
City; two daughters, Mrs. George (Mary
Jean) Duzik of Sioux City; and Mrs. Lester
(Margaret) Closner of Des Moines; three
brothers, B. F. Walding of Sioux City and
Eugene and Harry, both of Hagarsville,
Wash.; 14, grandchildren and a
great-grandchild.
