Anthony "Tony" Boe, 86, of Sioux City passed away suddenly Saturday, Jan. 11, 2003, at a Sioux City hospital.

Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Nelson-Berger Morningside Chapel, with the Rev. Krishen Persaud officiating. Burial will be 11 a.m. Tuesday in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 9 a.m. until service time Monday at the funeral home.

Tony was born Oct. 26, 1916, in Kenosha, Wis., the son of Jacob and Petronele (Zalis) Bolchunos. He attended school in Kenosha.

On Jan. 2, 1943, he married E. Margaret Pedersen in Albany, Ore. Tony served in the U.S. Army from May 8, 1941, to Dec. 28, 1945. During World War II, he served in the infantry of the 96th Division in the Pacific Theater, Leyte, Philippines and Okinawa. He was a member of the U.S. Army Reserves for four years and the Iowa National Guard for 18 years.

He was a business representative and financial secretary for the Carpenters Local Union 948 for 23 years. He had served as vice president and later as president of Iowa State Council of Carpenters.

Tony was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church, V.F.W. 580, American Legion in Sergeant Bluff and Moose Lodge 752.

Survivors include his wife, E. Margaret Boe of Sioux City; a son, Gary Boe of Omaha, Neb; a daughter, Barbara Rodriguez of Clinton, Iowa; a brother, John Bolchunos of Arvada, Colo; two sisters, Helen McBride and Magdalene Bolchunos, both of Sioux City; two grandchildren, Christy Johnson and Michael Mertz; and two great-grandchildren, Addison Mertz and Colton Johnson.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Carpenters Union 948.
