Elsie M. Danker Yost, 85, of Alma, Neb., formerly of Sioux City and Moville, Iowa, died Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2003, at Colonial Villa Good Samaritan Center in Alma.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Mitchell Funeral Home in Orleans, Neb., with Mr. Neil Collins officiating. Burial will be in Orleans Cemetery. Visitation will be 1 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Elsie was born Aug. 7, 1917, in Lucky Valley, Iowa, the youngest of two daughters to Charles Otto and Lena Mae (Fenton) Eisentraut. She received her education in Lucky Valley.

She was united in marriage in 1942, to Edward Danker. To this union three sons were born, Arlon, Quentin and Leon. The family made their home in Moville, Iowa. She enjoyed being a homemaker and foremost in her life was caring for her children. In 1951, the family relocated to Sioux City, where Edward was employed with Sioux Valley Machinery. In 1964, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward.

On Sept. 2, 1965, she was united in marriage to Charles Yost. The couple resided in Highland Park, Ill., until settling in Orleans, Neb. in 1976. Throughout the years in Harlan County, Neb., the couple were blessed with many great friends. In July 31, 1981, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles. She continued to live in Orleans until becoming a resident of Colonial Villa Good Samaritan Center in Alma in December 1998.

She loved to read and listen to country music and go on walks, when she was able.

She leaves to mourn her passing her three sons, Arlon Danker and his wife, Dixie of Sioux City, Quentin Danker and his wife, Ivy of Chino Valley, Ariz., and Leon Danker; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.

In addition to her two husbands, she was also preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Ila Weaver.

A memorial fund has been established in her memory.
