Mary (Tsoutsouris) Hanson, 78, of Sioux City died Friday, Dec. 27, 2002, in Sioux City.

Private family services were held Dec. 31, at Christy-Smith Morningside Chapel, where the Revs. Tim Alikakos and Tom Begley officiated. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mrs. Hanson was born April 8, 1924, in Sioux City, the daughter of Thomas and Glekeria (Trivia) Tsoutsouris. She was raised in the Sioux City area and attended school in Sioux City. She worked at Sioux City Battery, Armour and Co., Johnson Biscuit and Interbake Foods.

She was a former member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church and of the Bakery, Confectionery and Tobacco Worker's Union. She enjoyed spending time with her family and gardening.

Survivors include her sister, Anna (Tsoutsouris) Hoaas of Sioux City; three nephews, James Hoaas of Sioux City and Rodney and Randy Hoaas, both of Montevideo, Minn.; two nieces and their husbands, Karlie and Hank Mobley of Sioux City and Michelle and Jeff Greene of Council Bluffs, Iowa; great-nieces, Jennifer and her husband, Greg Pribil, Racheal Cummings, Stephanie Mobley, Alexie Mobley, Amanda McClure and Anna Greene; and a great-grand-nephew, Gabe Pribil.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Efthemious Tsoutsouris; and an infant sister, Erenie Tsoutsouris.
