SERGEANT BLUFF -- Elizabeth Louise Husby, 95, of Whiting, Iowa, formerly of Sergeant Bluff, died Monday, Jan. 27, 2003, at a Onawa, Iowa hospital following a brief illness.

Private family graveside services were held Thursday, Jan. 30, in Memorial Park Cemetery in Sioux City, where the Rev. Alex T. Washington officiated. Arrangements were under the direction of Christy-Smith Morningside Chapel.

Mrs. Husby was born March 11, 1907, in Thomasborn, Ill., the daughter of Jacob Carol and Jennie Mae (Thurber) Kauper. She had resided in Sloan, Iowa, where she attended school. She had also lived in Salix, Iowa before moving to Sergeant Bluff in 1926.

She married Lloyd E. Husby on June 15, 1929, in Elk Point, S.D. She was a housekeeper for Mrs. Rosenstock for 37 years, retiring in 1992. Mr. Husby died March 10, 1979, in Sergeant Bluff.

She was a member of the Methodist faith and a former member of the Sergeant Bluff United Methodist Church. She enjoyed traveling.

Survivors include a nephew, James Camerer of Sergeant Bluff; and her special friends, Jane Meyers, Loraine Miller and Karen Boettger.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; two brothers, Harry and Frank Kauper; and a sister, Bertha Camerer.
