SERGEANT BLUFF -- Everett H. Christensen, 72, of Sergeant Bluff passed away March 8, 2010, in his sleep at his residence.

Everett was born Dec. 7, 1937, and lived his life in Sergeant Bluff. He lived life Everett's way, with a gruff exterior and an interior that had a warm, loving heart and kindness. Everett never met a stranger. Being a long-haul truck driver for many years, he traveled the United States and made many friends along the way. Everett also enjoyed his times with the VFW and American Legion over the years cooking and enjoying the company of all.

He is survived by his great-nephews, Robert Christensen Jr. of Portland, Ore., and Shane Christensen; a great-niece, Shannon Christensen of Sergeant Bluff; great-great-nephew, Isaiah; great-great-nieces, Addison and Zola; best friend, Lee Mohr; his adopted niece, Nancy Bridewell of San Diego, Calif., and her family; as well as many family and friends through out Iowa and the United States.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Louie and Pauline Christensen; brother, Donald Christensen; and nephew, Robert C. Christensen Sr.

Everett will always be in our hearts and memories. We all are better because of your love, kindness and allowing us to share your life with you.
