SIOUX CITY -- Iona L. (Dye) Miller, 96, of Sioux City passed away Monday, March 22, 2010, at a Sioux City hospital following a brief illness.

Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at St. John Lutheran Church (handicap accessible), with the Rev. Greg Hanneman officiating. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Friday in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Thursday at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.

Iona was born Dec. 30, 1913, in Sioux City, to Leonard and Emma (Huser) Erickson.

On Nov. 15, 1933, she married Garold O. Dye in Thurston County, Neb. To that union a son, Jimmy, was born. Garold passed away Feb. 10, 1966, in Sioux City. She later married Henry Miller in December 1971, in Elk Point, S.D. He passed away in 1994, in Mason City, Iowa. Iona lived the majority of her life in Sioux City, except for a short time in Mason City and wintering in Texas.

Iona was a homemaker, who loved to cook, especially desserts. Pies were her specialty. She was baptized at St. John Lutheran Church, where she was a lifetime member.

She is survived by a son, Jimmy Dye and his wife, Karen of Sioux City; three grandchildren, Keith Dye and his wife, Heidi of Lubbock, Texas, Lisa Chicoine and her partner, Aubrey Green of Sioux City and Stacey Brown and her husband, Stuart of Sioux City; 13 great-grandchildren, Christopher, Molly, Keaton, James, Tyler, Isadora, Ethan, Naeli, Paul, Stephanie, Patrick, Michael and Sara; and a great-great-grandson, Alexander.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Garold and Henry; and a brother and his wife, Vincent and Grace Erickson.

Pallbearers will be Paul Yaneff, Patrick Yaneff, Stuart Brown, Mike Brown, Justin Jensen and Ethan Green. Honorary pallbearers will be her grandchildren and their families.

Memorials may be made in her name to St. John Lutheran Church.
