SIOUX CITY -- Wyatt O. Wardrip, 41, of Sioux City passed away Thursday, March 18, 2010, at his residence.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Paul United Methodist Church in South Sioux City, with the Rev. Nancy Leonard officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. today at Becker-Hunt Funeral Home.

Wyatt was born June 15, 1968, in Wakefield, Neb., the son of Dwight L. and Patricia R. (Ferguson) Wardrip. He graduated from South Sioux City High School in 1987. He worked for Gateway and was a maintenance technician for Riverfront Apartments in South Sioux City.

He enjoyed playing pool, dancing, fishing and camping. Wyatt will be remembered for his kindness, generosity and his unique story-telling abilities. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Survivors include a daughter, Heather Wardrip of South Sioux City; his mother and her husband, Patricia and Bob Wilen of Sioux City; his father, Dwight Wardrip of Cortez, Colo.; a brother and his wife, Wade and Lori Wardrip of McAllister, Okla.; many nephews, nieces, cousins, aunts, uncles and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents; and a brother, Lonnie Wardrip.

Pallbearers will be Russell Chester, Terry Fowler, Ben and Brent Wardrip, Darren Palmer and Myron Ptak. Honorary pallbearers will be Dallas Reasonover, Brian Kampfe and Darrel Grimm.
