KINGSLEY, Iowa -- Darrell D. Jeffrey, 53, of Kingsley passed away Monday, June 25, 2007, at his residence following complications from a stroke.

Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Rohde-Earnest Funeral Home in Kingsley, with the Rev. Duane Miesner officiating. Burial will be in Kingsley Cemetery. Visitation will be after 3 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at the funeral home. Visitation will resume one hour prior to the service Thursday at the funeral home.

Darrell Doane Jeffrey was born June 2, 1954, in Correctionville, Iowa, the son of Ernest "Bud" and Eileen (Wright) Jeffrey. He graduated from Eastwood High School in Correctionville in 1972.

On June 6, 1975, he married Hope Juelfs in Cushing, Iowa. To this union two sons were born, Brant and Blake. He worked for several trucking firms throughout the years. He thoroughly enjoyed truck driving and earned a safe driver award. His most recent job was with Plendl Triple R Trucking.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing and gardening.

He will be lovingly remembered by his sons, Brant of Tipton, Iowa, and Blake of Des Moines; his parents, Ernest and Eileen Jeffrey of Correctionville, Iowa; a special friend, Kathy Kindig of Kingsley; his grandmother, Maxine Wright of Correctionville; three sisters, Susan (Ken) Hiner of Grinnell, Iowa, Karen (Larry) Wink of Anthon, Iowa, and Marilyn Kurtz of Sioux City; a brother, Robert (Deb) Jeffrey of Correctionville, Iowa; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Virgil Wright; and grandparents, Ernest and Inez Jeffrey.
