Mrs. Shesler Moves Here

Founder of the Deacones Home Comes to Live in It

Mrs. J.B. Shesler, founder of the Shesler Deacones home, Thirteenth and Jackson Streets, has removed from Spencer to Sioux City and will make her residence at the Deacones home.

Mrs. Shesler is one of the most highly regarded women in the Methodist Episcopal church in the Northwest Iowa conference. For years she has been a valuable missionary worker, and now although her age prevents her from being active, she is president of the conference organization of the Women’s Home Missionary Society.

For twenty-two years Mrs. Shesler lived at Spencer, and the people of that city regretted her departure. The Spencer News says: “Mrs. Shesler has long be a great factor for good in our community, always active and energetic in all work that gave promise of good. While past the time for active work, her presence will ever be an inspiration to others to attain to the higher and better life of which she has so long been a shining example. May her beautiful life long be spared eere she is called to the home beyond.”

Mrs. Shesler presided at the twentieth anniversary meeting of the Women’s Home Missionary Society, which was held here during the session of the Northwest Iowa conference. Mrs. Shesler is a charter member of the conference society, as are Mrs. T.E. Carter and Mrs. W.W. Brown,, both of whom were present at the anniversary meeting.
