Cecil ‘Cy’ Selby and Neta (Copenhaver) Selby were married 16 June 1946 at the home of her parents, Walt and Mabel Copenhaver, in Bronson, Iowa. It was an outdoor garden wedding on a very hot day, 106 degrees in the shade. The ceremony was performed by Rev Wienands, pastor of Elliot Creek Presbyterian Church in Bronson. Their attendants were Jeanette and Jay Stevenson, with Ronnie Stevenson, ring bearer, and Neta Jayne Stevenson, as flower girl. A buffet supper was served following the wedding.

Neta Irene was born 8 January 1928, daughter of Walt and Mabel Copenhaver of Bronson. Cy was born 2 January 1920 in Sioux City, Iowa, son of Bert William and Ellen Marie (Fredrickson) Selby.

Both Neta and Cy graduated from Bronson High School. Cy served in the US Air Force, 1941-1945. They were married right after Neta graduated from high school.

They farmed near Bronson, for nine years and moved to Sioux City in 1955. Cy worked as a deputy sheriff under Woodbury County Sheriff Lunde. Then he worked as a United States Department of Agriculture Meat Inspector in the Sioux City packing houses. He was transferred to Ottumwa, Iowa, in 1959 or 1960, still working for USDA, but in Animal Disease Irradication. Later, moving to Jefferson City, Missouri. Her hobbies and sewing and singing. She has sung with Sweet Adeline chapters in Ottumwa and Jefferson City and is at present a member of that organization. She, like her mother, does lots of sewing for others.

Cy and Neta have two children and two grandchildren. Aaron Lee Selby was born 17 May 1949; and Sheila Marie Selby was born 4 July 1952.

Aaron Lee Selby graduated from Ottumwa High School and went to Morningside College in Sioux City. He worked for several years at Northwestern National Bank in Sioux City. Aaron married Mary Beth Turner, 12 February 1977. They lived in Sioux City, until moving to Ankeny, Iowa, where is District Sales Manager for Phillip Morris. Mary is a nurse. They have two boys: Brent Lee, born 14 January 1980; and Brian Derek, born 13 September 1982.
Sheila Marie Selby graduated from Ottumwa High School and went to Junior College in Ottumwa. She has worked in offices in Washington, D C; Ottumwa, Iowa; and Sioux City, Iowa. She lived in Sioux City, from 1979 to 1983. She was married 1977 to Howard David Bangston and divorced in 1979. It was a short marriage, no children. She is now working in Brainerd, Minnesota.
