Wayne L Rush was born May 13, 1913. He married Rose Lussier, January 15, 1936. Wayne was born in Sloan, Iowa, and lived in Sloan, Salix, and Sergeant Bluff, except for six years when his family homesteaded in North Dakota. He was born on a farm south and west of Sloan. He went to school at Sloan, Salix, Albaton, (country schools) and Sergeant Bluff. HE worked for his brother, Lavay, until he started farming for himself in 1938, and farmed until he retired in 1980, when he moved to Salix.

Rose was born February 18, 1920, in Salix, the daughter of Arthur and Malvina Paquette Lussier. She attended St Joseph School and country school south of Salix, known as the LaCroix School. She lived in Salix all her life.

Their five children are Elliot, Eugene, Madelyn, David, and Brenda.

Elliot married Patricia Murray, November 5, 1960. She is the daughter of Tim and Helen Murray. They have three children: Laurie, Lynne and Christopher. Elliot is an electrician and lives in Sioux City.

Eugene married Mildred Brubaker, December 31, 1955. Her parents are Milton and Loretto Brubaker. Three children are: Randy, Gina and Jackie. Randy married Joan Grimm, daughter of Bob and Maxine Grimm: they have two sons, Ryan and Brandon. Gina Marie married Wayne Trudeau, son of Martin ‘Duke’ and Kay Trudeau, on May 22, 1981.

Madelyn married Tom Jauron, August 27, 1960; he is the son of Pearl and Jerry Jauron. Their three children are: Mark, Sandy and Kurt.

David, not married, is staying at home and working for Office Systems.

Brenda married Brian Galloway, November 3, 1979, son of Richard and Maxine Galloway. They have one son, Adam Wayne.
