History of Woodbury County, Iowa 1984

Frank Reyman
By Virginia Reymand

Frank Lewis Reyman, son of August and Louisa Heitt Reyman, was born at Cushing, August 12, 1894. He grew up on a farm south of Cushing and attending school which was located in the present Cushing park.

Frank started farming at an early age, helping his father who was unable to handle a farm this size alone.

On December 5, 1925, he married Ethel Tuschoff or Correctionville. After Frank’s marriage, his parents, who had retired on the farm, move to town to the house where Peter and Mavis Smith now live. They moved to the home place which is located one-half west and one mile south of Cushing. He and his brother, Ernest, farmed the place in partnership. Frank and Ethel lived there for seventeen years. Their five children were born there: Frances, Mrs. Stanley Heilman, of Holstein; Lewis*, of Cushing; Bonne, Mrs. Verne Hanson; Wanda, Mrs. Robert Endrualt, of Murray, Iowa; and Ruth, Mrs Richard Daehn, of Minneapolis, Minnesota.

After Louisa Reyman passed away and the estate was settled, Frank bought the place where she lived and moved there.

On December 24, 1946, Ethel passed away. Frank continued to farm raising his young family. On June 8, 1952, he was married to Rossie Sealy Hanson from Vermillion, South Dakota.

After they lived on the farm for nineteen years, they decided to retire. In 1960, they purchased a home in Cushing where Mrs. H P Lasher had lived and this was their home for many years. They are now living in the new Cushing Housing Apartments.
