Calvin Miner Mead, son of Miner Burton Mead and Mary Turman, was born July 21, 1880, at Oto, Iowa. He died July 18, 1936, of heat stroke while farming. He was buried at Oto, Iowa. He had blue eyes, brown hair and was of medium stature.

He married Lillie Parkhill, born September 10, 1881, at Oakland, Iowa (daughter of John Parkhill, born December 22, 1841, in Ireland to Hugh Parkhill and Sarah Fitzpatrick; and Elizabeth Murphy, born March 12, 1845, in Ireland to Thomas James Murphy, born in Belfast, Ireland, and Rosetta Boyland, born 1830 in Ireland). Lille has blue eyes and gray hair, is 5’4” tall and is living in the Mapleton Nursing Home.

Their children are: Miner, John Parkhill, Lawrence Gilmer, Gladys, and Clark Thomas.
