Russell Lowell Ferry was born February 11, 1908, the only son of a family of two, to Edward Henry and Nettie Irene Millen Ferry at Cushing, Iowa. Russell attended Cushing Consolidated School, graduating in 1925. He graduated from Morningside College in 1929 with a Bachelor of Arts degree. Russ served as City Treasurer of Cushing for a number of years and was associated in several business ventures. Russ served in the Army during World War II, (the European theater for three and one-half years, stationed in Iceland twenty-two months). In 1962 Russ became a U.S.D.A. Meat Inspector and retired from that position in 1977.

Olga Katherine Petersen Fey Ferry was born June 16, 1913, the fifth child of a family of eight children to Anton and Christina Christiansen Petersen at Battle Creek, Iowa; at the age of two she moved with her family to a farm south of Anthon. At the age of five the family moved to a farm between Anthon and Correctionville. The farm is now owned by Mrs Arlene Dice. Olga attended school at Kedron # 2 and was active in 4H.

On May 28, 1930, Olga married Franklin Wayne Fey the oldest son of Geroge Henry Feg and Lula Mae Jones Fey. To this union two daughters were born: Mary Louise Fey Utesch and Shirley Mae Fey Holz. Mary Lives on a farm with her husband, Bill, north on a farm with her husband, Bill, north of Correctionville. They are parents of five children. Shirley lives in Sanborn, Iowa. Norman and Shirley are the parents of five chidlren who all live in the Sanborn area.

Olga and Wayne farmed until 1939 around the Correctionville area. During World War II they were involved in defense work.

On December 14, 1944, Olga went to work for Swift & Company and worked for that Company for thirty years, retiring on July 1, 1978, except for one year in 1945 when she was employed at the People’s Store in Correctionville.

On January 11, 1957, Olga and Russell were married and lived in Sioux City until they retired moving to Horse Shoe Bend, Arkansas, in 1979. In 1980, they purchased a home in Correctionville where they now reside.

Olga is a member of the United Methodist Church at Correctionville and U.W.S.C.S. and Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoys playing cards and gardening.

Russell is a member of the United Methodist Church at Cushing, Iowa. He is a member of the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and a Fifty Year member of Burning Bush Lodge AF & Am of Correctionville. Russ enjoys reading and all sports.
