Donald and Virginia (Foster) McGregor

Donald Robert McGregor, second son of tow born to Earl Harold McGregor, April 1, 1906, and Joyce Magus Gardner, November 22, 1905, arrived on the scene at Elsie, Nebraska, March 25, 1940.

Education: attended rural schools of Hayes County, Nebraska through eighth grade; graduated from Hayes County High School, 1958, graduated Kearney State College, Kearney, Nebraska, 1969.

Employment: taught Industrial Arts; later employed at Sioux City Motor Cycle Sales; then at Mid Continent Equipment; and is Chevrolet, all in Sioux City, Iowa.

June 23, 1973, Donald married Virginia Fay Foster, December 4, 1946, only child of Douglas Depue Foster and Lois Fay Harrison. They were married at Rustin Avenue Untied Methodist Church, Sioux City, Iowa. Leeds Junior High at the time of their marriage. She continued teaching until the birth of their first child.

Two children were born to this marriage: Donita Fay, born July 17, 1976 and Douglas Robert, born April 2, 1980, both at St Joseph Hospital, Sioux City, Iowa).

Shortly before their marriage Don and Virginia purchased their home at 2612 Chicago Avenue, Sioux City, Iowa. Donald lived there and Virginia lived in the apartment of the house at 2909 Dodge Avenue, Sioux City, Iowa (house belong to Lois H and Ray Denham, Virginia’s mother and step-father).

Church membership: members of Rustin Avenue United Methodist Church until Spring of 1981; now affiliated with Abundant Life Fellowship, a relatively new church meeting in what was formerly the Chapel of the Sioux City Airbase.

Donald’s parents, although retired, still live in their farm home in Hayes County, Nebraska. Donald’s brother Clifford Allen, April 28, 1935, married Evelyn Malone, December 26, 1936, on June 1, 1958. Clifford and Evelyn have two children: Allen Eugene, August 6, 1962, and Debra Louise, September 15, 1967.
