Jacob ‘Jake’ Luchsinger was born in Switzerland in 1864, and came to the U S A and eastern Iowa at the age of nineteen. He married Anna B Saxer, also born in Switzerland. They made their home in the Rock Island and Davenport area, later moving to Minden, Iowa, and to Hornick in 1903. Mr Luchsinger was a farmer.

They had four sons, John, Walter, Alfred, and Harry, and three daughters, Nellie, Verona, and Marie.

Jake died in 1935 and Anna in 1943; Walter in 1951; Alfred in 1953; John in 1954; Verona in 1979; and Nellie in 1931.

Walter married Ethel Gragertt Sather and they raised a step-daughter, Donna Mae.

Alfred married Elaine Lind King and raised a step-son, Lloyd William King.

Harry married Frances Dunn; their children: Jane and Sylvia.

Nellie married Louis Stanton.

Verona married Earl Lundeen; their children: Wanda and Anita.

Marie married Ford Skinner; their children: Janice, Karen and Deloris (deceased).
