Carl Mogensen was born in Langland, Denmark, 1872-1960, and came to America, when he was a young man.

For several years, he worked as a farmhand near Salix. In 1905, he married Regina Hogh, and they were the parents of seven.

They bought a arm northeast of Salix, and lived there until they retired from farming.

His last 15 years were spent at Brown’s Lake, and he died in 1960.

Mrs Mogensen is in a nursing home in Onawa, Iowa, and has just celebrated her 97th birthday.
