Erwin E Jenness was born October 4, 1918, in Cherokee County near Quimby, the son of Francis Roy and Verna McCorkel Jenness. He attended school in Archer and Washta, graduating in 1938. He worked as a farmhand in O’Brien County until his marriage on October 4, 1948, to Armeda Hudson of Shelbyville, Illinois. She is the daughter of Louis Elmer and Berte Blanche Onion Hudson. She attended rural school in Shelby County and worked as a maid for five years. She worked for the Illinois Consolidated Telephone Company for eighteen months. She served in the Wac during World War II for twenty months. She was discharged in August of 1946 as a Technician Fourth grade after serving in New York and Vienna, Austria. She returned to the telephone company until she was married.

The Jennesses moved to Pierson in September 1951 and Erwin went to work for the Farmer’s Coop Elevator. He retired in February 1981 after just over thirty years.

Erwin and Armeda have six children. They attended grade school in Pierson and high school in Kingsley. David Erwin was born November 4, 1949, lives in Des Moines, and works as a bookkeeper. He served in the Air Force for about a year in the Viet Nam conflict. He fell from a guard tower in the Phillippines and was given a medical discharge. He graduated form Westmar College in LeMars with a degree in Business Administration.

Nancy Sue Jenness Baker was born July 21, 1951. She lives in Colby, Kansas, with her husband, Douglas Baker, the son of Lowell and Laura Wylie Baker. He was born in Nebraska and moved to Iowa at a young age. He and Nancy attended high school together. Doug served in the Air Force in Florida after graduation. Nancy attended Wayne State Teacher’s College in Wayne, Nebraska and graduated with a degree in education. Doug later attended Westmar College in LeMars and graduated with a degree in education. They have two children: Laura, born February 6, 1973; and Doyle, born August 2, 1976. Laura is in the fifth grade in Colby and Doyle is in the second grade. Doug and Nancy were married August 5, `972, in the Lutheran Church in Kingsley.

Roy Edwin Jenness was born April 20, 1955, and lives in Chula Vista, California. He graduated from Western Iowa Tech in Sioux City after high school with a degree in Electronics Communication. He worked for a radio station for six months and enlisted in the Navy. He is an ETI. He has been stationed in Groton, Connecticut; Beach, Virginia; Norfolk, Virginia; New York, New York; Charleston, South Carolina; San Diego, California; and six months in the Mediterranean. He is teaching a phase of radar in San Diego.

Lloyd Louis Jenness was born January 4, 1957, and lives in Moville with his wife Tami, daughter Jill Renee, born July 28, 1978, and sons, Christopher Louis, born July 11, 1981, and Matthew Rowley, born February 13, 1983. Tami is the daughter of Kendall and Shirley Fisher Crawford of Moville. They were married April 15, 1977, at the Methodist Church in Moville. Lloyd drives a truck for Hart Beverage of South Sioux City, Nebraska. Tami attended high school at Moville and was a secretary in Sioux City until her marriage. Lloyd attended Northwestern College at Orange City one year and graduated form Western Iowa Tech with a degree in accounting.

Verna Roberts Jenness was born May 22, 1959, and attended Mount Marty College at Yankton, South Dakota graduating with an Associate Degree. She has worked in a daycare center and likes children.

Lisa Ann Jenness was born December 27, 1961. She worked as a waitress in Moville for a year until her marriage to Scott Alan Elgert of Sioux City. They have a son, Nicklas Scott born June 26, 1982. They were married on September 11, 1981. Scott works at St Luke’s hospital in Sioux City, Iowa, as a painter. They have a daughter, Brandi Ann born October 13, 1983.
