Gorge and Nancy were married in Jefferson City, Missouri, on September 17, 1977, at the First Christian Church. They moved to Mokane, Missouri, and on May 5, 1978, their daughter, Stephanie Ann, was born.

That year they moved back to Jefferson City, and on Thanksgiving, George’s son, Kirk, came to live with them. In July of 1979, they moved to Meeker, Coloado, where George worked at the Grant Junction Power Plant. The family went trout fishing, hiking, and mountain climbing. Later they moved to Phoenix, Arizona, where at Palo Verde Power Plant. On the way to Arizona, they saw the Grand Canyon, Painted Desert, Four Corners, and the Petrified Forest. They didn’t stay long in Phoenix because Geoge had to work in 130 degree heat every day, so they moved to Huntsville, Missouri, where George worked at the Thomas Hill Power Plant. While at Huntsville, they had a family picture taken, and Stephanie won the ‘Miss Photogenic’ contest and had her picture printed in the newspaper.
In the spring of 1980, they moved back to Mokane, and George and Nancy both went to work at the Union Electric Power Plant. In January 1981, they moved to Tebbetts, Missouri, not far from Mokane, and in July, they moved to Lake Charles, Louisiana, where George worked at the Roy Nelson Power Plant. They spent a lot of weekends at Holly Beach, fishing and catching shrimp and blue crabs. Kirk learned to use a casting net. While they were there, Nancy’s mother visited them, and so did George’s mother, half-sister, and her two youngest children. Nancy enjoyed learning to cook different styles of food, Mexican in Phoenix, Cajun in the south, and she even tried alligator.

The family was homesick for Missouri, so they moved back to Mokane again and bought a house. George works at the Union Electric Power Plant, and Nancy has worked there from time to time. The children are at South Calloway RII School and are in differenct activities.
