Mrs Miles Galland

Miles Galland was born on a farm located by Brown’s Lake and lived there all his sixty years.

This farm had many fond memories for him and his brothers and sisters. They spent hours at the lake and explored the island, hunted, fished, learned to swim and skate.

In the winter, the boys help the men cut ice from the lake, pack the ice cakes in the big shed for the next summer’s use. Quite often, one would fall in the water and had to hurry home for dry clothes.

Miles married Ellen Mogensen, and they had three children, Anna Marie, Robert and Richard.

Miles, farmed, and also did a lot of carpenter work, building several houses. He always enjoyed the lake and did a lot of hunting and fishing.

The children also spent many hours at the lake. They did a lot of boating, water skiing, fishing, swimming and skating, and can tell lots of stories about their years at the lake.

Miles’ wife, Ellen, still lives on the farm and son, Richard, does the farming and lives near by with his son, Rich.

Anna Marie and Robert both live in other states.
