Roger and Sharon Groepper

Roger Burdette Groepper was born July 29, 1937, in Battle Township of Ida County. He graduated form Correctionville High School in 1955. He then enlisted in the Navy, receiving his basic training at the Great Lakes Naval Station near Chicago. He spent some time in Norfolk, Virginia, and Bremerton, Washington, before settling in San Diego, California. His tour of duty was spent on an aircraft carrier on a radio communications officer. He married Sharon Wright on June 9, 1956, at Bremerton, Washington. Sharon, daughter of Virgil and Maxine Shever Wright, was born on April 27, 1937. Sharon was also graduated from Correctionville High School in 1955. She worked as secretary in the Cushing School for one year.

Roger and Sharon lived in Sioux City until 1972 where Roger was assistant manager of Production Credit Association. They both continued their education at this time. Roger graduated from the University of South Dakota at Vermillion in business administration and Sharon graduated from Morningside College in elementary education. She then was employed as a teacher in the Sioux City Public Schools.

In 1972 they moved to Escondido, California, wher Roger was a manager of the San Diefo County Production Credit Association. Currently, he is employed in the financial departemnt of Van Camps Seafood. Sharon teaches sixth grade in the Escondido school system.

They are the parents of four children. Gregg was born September 28, 1957. He married to Lori Garinger and they have one daughter, Brooke Ann, who born May 21, 1981. Gregg is employed by Bernie Bergmann Volkswagon where he rebuilds VW engines.

Kevin was born May 14, 1959. He graduated from San Diedgo State College and is presently coaching football and wrestling. On January 5, 1961, Julie joined the family. She works for a mortgage and loan company in Escondido and is married to Doug Kidder. Brian was born on December 27, 1962. He is attending Palomar College near Escondido.
