Frank, Benny, Charley and Bob Glover

William Franklin ‘Frank’ Glover, son of William and Emily (Rains) Glover, was born September 4, 1868, in Fremont County, Iowa. He moved with his parents to Woodbury County in 1882; he was then fourteen years of age. He married Nancy King (a sister to Mrs Jim Boyd) on May 6, 1891. They later moved to Winnebago, Nebraska. Nancy passed away there on November 1, 1927; her burial was at the Sloan Cemetery. Frank moved back to Woodbury County and lived with his brother, Walter, until November 25, 1932, when he passed away. He too is buried at the Sloan cemetery. They had no children.

Benjamin Lafayette ‘Benny’ Glover, son of William and Emily (Rains) Glover, was born April 29, 1870, in Fremont County, Iowa. He came with his parents to Woodbury county in 1882 at the age of twelve. He married Nancy ‘Nan’ Talley of Lakeport Township on February 2, 1895. They lived in Woodbury County until about 1908, when they moved to Martinsburg, Nebraska. Their children were: Jesse Harlin, born February 3, 1896, in Lakeport Township; Icea Geneva, born August 28, 1897, in Lakeport Township; Ivy Beatrice, born January 10, 1899, in Lakeport Township; Leland William ‘Bill’, born June 27, 1901, in Lakeprot Township. (He married Mae Willet of Sloan.); Lena Ruth ‘Ruth’ and Nioma, twins, born June 15, 1905, in Lakeport Township. (Nioma passed away at birth.); Benjamin Lafayette, Jr, ‘Ben’ born October 13, 1906, in Lakeport Township; and Anna ‘Ann’ Marie, born March 30, 1912, at Martinsburg, Nebraska. Jesse, Icea, Ivy and Bill attended the Glover School. Nancy and Benjamin and all but three children have passed away. Ivy is in Missippi, Ruth in in Alaska and Ann is at Lincoln, Nebraska. There are many descendants living out of Iowa.

Charles Thomas ‘Charley’ Glover, son of William and Emily (Rains) Glover, was born January 22, 1872 at Bartlet, Fremont County, Iowa. At the age of ten, he came with his parents to Lakeport Township in 1882. On February 14, 1894, he married Susan Darthula ‘Doll’ Talley of Lakeport Township. They moved to Bancroft, Nebraska where their daughter, Hazel, was born. In 1903, they moved back to Lakeport Township, where Herman, Frank, and Hazel attended the Glover School. In 1906 or 1908, they moved to Winnebago, Nebraska, where another daughter, Bernice, was born. They lived there until 1924, when they moved to Lincoln, Nebraska, where they remained the rest of their lives. All have passed away, except Hazel and Bernice. There are many descendants in Nebraska.

Robert Edward ‘Bob’ Glover, son of William and Emily (Rains) Glover, was born January 19, 1874, Fremont County, Iowa, and came with his parents to Lakeport Township at the age of eight in 1882. He married Daisy Franks on January 2, 1901 and moved to Pender, Nebraska. Then he homesteaded in South Dakota. To this union were born: Walter R, William E ‘Bill’, and Robert A Glover. In 1909, they were divorced. Walter and Bill were taken to their Uncle Walter and Aunt Rosa Glover to live, staying there three years. Then Daisy came and took the boys as she was getting married again. She married Albert Enders and he adopted the boys. Bob came back to Lakeport Township in 1917 and farmeed with his brother, Walter. He married Grace Cooper, a widow, about 1921. To them was born a daughter, Evelyn Pauline. Bob and Grace divorced and he lived on Flower’s Island or with his brother, Walter, until he became ill and passed away on November 7, 1951. He is buried in the Sloan cemetery. Grace had four children by her first marriage. They were Vernard, Wayne, Vyril and Kenneth. They attended the Glover School. Walter and Bill attended the Glover School, too, while living with their Aunt Rosa and Uncle Walter.
