James Haafke

James Haafke was the tenth and last surviving child to be born in the Edwars Haafke family on their farm near Bronson. His birthdate was September 10, 1891. He attended Elliot Creek School and it is not known as to whether or not he furthered his education.

After moving from home, he lived on the present Walter ‘Bud’ Haafke farm, located northwest of Bronson. James was deeded this farm fro $1 by his dad, Edward Haafke.

James’ life was short; he met with an untimely death. He was run over by a disk and passed away on January 16, 1926, at the age of thirty-four.
