Wortman, W. Fred

W. Fred Wortman was born July 21,1920,
at Sergeant Bluff. He graduated from
high school in Sergeant Bluff and attended Iowa
State College, Ames, Iowa. Fred spent eleven
years with the United States Navy. After his
hitch in the service, Fred was employed by the
American Security and Trust Company, Washington D.C.,
He left his job in Washington D.C., to return to Sioux City
and live with his mother, because of her poor health. Fred
worked at Wincharger Corp, during that time as Time Study
Engineer. After the death of his mother, Fred moved to
Glendale, California, where he worked for ITT General Controls
as Time Study Engineer for twenty-two years until his retirement
In 1981, Fred moved back to Sioux City, and lives at 2106 Riverside Blvd.
