Ernest Elmer (May 30, 1889-July 30, 1956) and Forrest Watson Clift (June 8,m 1893-July 18, 1971), sons of Samuel B and Mdatilda Kochert Clift, wer both born and raised in Woodbury County. They owned and lived on farmes within a mile of the ‘home place’ north of Willow Township Cemetery, in Woodbury County.

‘Ernie’ and his wife, Grace Forney, daughter of Fred Forney, were married February 4, 1912. He died of cancer and is buried in the Willow Township Cemetery. She, later, married Frank Washburn. Some years after Frank’s death she entered a nursing home, at Whiting, Iowa.

‘Forrie’ and his wife, Pauline (February 3, 1893-1977), daughter of Charles Sulsberger, were married October 8, 1914. They retired in Morningside where they enjoyed the fellowship of the Morningside Presbyterian Church. They were buried in Memorial Park Cemetery, Sioux City, Iowa.

Neither couple had children.
