By Edmund L LundquistCharles Wesley Cisne (Cessna) was born October 27, 1859, at Newport, Johnson County, Iowa, just north of Iowa City to Jonathon Cisne and Julia Ann Wieneke. The Cisne’s had come to Iowa City form Monroe County, Ohio. Previously they had resided in Bedford, Pennsylvania, having come over before the Revolutionary War.
Charles Cisne married Myrtis Henyan who died at the birth of duaghter, Ceila, in 1884; and married Mary Louise Weber in 1886. Two daughters were born to this marriage: Bessie Mable, born February 2, 1888; and Iowa Florence, September 13, 1890. They moved to Marcus, Iowa, Cherokee County, where Mr Cisnes operated a general merchandise store, first in partnership with Harvey Moiser, and later along.
Iowa Florence married Elmer L Lundquist, June 14, 1914, a local bank president, and two children were born: Edmund LERoy and Margaret Lucille.
In April 1920, they moved to Sioux City, Iowa, and he was employed at Davidson Bros. Department Store until retirement. He resided with his daughter in Sioux City and passed away October 10, 1046. His wife, Mary Louise Weber, died July 4, 1929, in Sioux City. He was survived by his three daughters.
