Charles and Naomie (Tuschoff) Casey
By Brad Smith

Charles Clark was born on a farm in Shelby County, Harlan, Iowa on September 10, 1886. He moved with his parents to Woodbury County when he was six yeas old. His parents, Cyrus George and Lura Ann Robinson, Casey, owned a farm six miles south of Correctionville.
Charlie’s father hauled the lumber from Battle Creek to erect the first house and buildings on the farm. The family later lived on two other farms in the area.
Charlie married Naomie Fredareika Tuschoff on September 18, 1912, at Ida Grove, Iowa. They were married by the town’s Methodist minister. After their marriage, they continued to farm in the Correctionville vicinity until 1940 when they moved to Correctionville.
Charlie became the manager of the Fairmont Produce Station in Correctionville. He worked there for fifteen years before retiring. Charlie’s hobbies were calling on shut-ins around Correctionville, cheering them with his visits and gifts, and growing his many beautiful flowers. For many years he enjoyed providing a way for area children to attend Sunday School classes in the Church of Christ. Charlie’s family line has been traced back to 1695 with the arrival of Daniel Casey who settled in Connecticut.
