CRAFT CROFT JAMES OR JAMES M AND SUSAN CRAFT

In the 1870 census James last name is listed as Croft . In all other censuses it was listed as Craft.
In 1870 he is listed as 60 yrs old born in Maryland. I find James in the federal census from 1830-70, and then no more.This leads me to be believe he died between 1871-1878. His widow Susan Craft filed a mother pension on son Francis C ( James 1st born from his 1st wife) in 1878-9 which is why I think it likely he died before 1878.
In the 1870 census he is in Frankville Iowa. The census indicates James was a land owner. He also Had a daughter Anna age 10 and a handicapped son Winfield S Craft. I have been unable to find if James had a will or left any legal papers for providing for care of them.
Before coming to Frankville James was in Postville, and before there he had lived in Lycoming Co PA and Freeport Illinois. Any help appreciated James has been my brick wall.
