St Paul's Lutheran Church Burr Oak

PFEIFFER

I am looking for the records and history of St Paul's Lutheran Church which existed in Burr Oak around 1920 or any suggestions where I might begin to look for this information. My grandfather Rev Richard Pfeiffer (Paul Gustav Richard Pfeiffer or P.G. Richard Pfeiffer) was a Lutheran pastor and served in Burr Oak from 1919-1921. As a pastor he was ordained by the Wartburg Synod, a synod which was part of what is now the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA). The central archives for the ELCA have no records for a church in Burr Oak during this period. I did however find a reference to a St Paul's church of the Wartburg Synod in Burr Oak Iowa in the book "National Lutheran Commission for Soldiers and Sailors Welfare: Report of Officers and Committees at the Third Annual Meeting November 4, 1919".
