Research done by other family says my great grandmother, Maria Christiansdatter came to Decorah in 1869 along with a twin sister, Pauline, and another sister, Karine, and a younger brother, Lauritz( may have gone by Lars)However I've not been able to find any of them on any census, though I did find a married sister, Bertha Espe and her family in 1870. A family history written by Maria's oldest son states that "Maria worked as a housekeeper for B. Annundsen, and could have married him when his wife died but she preferred Johan from the store", whom she married 1875 or 6 and then moved to Mower County and in 1880 to Garfield TWP, Polk County, MN. Doll given to me by my grandmother, Maria's daughter, proved to be over fifteen years older than my grandmother, so I think she was purchased my Maria to give to Bertha's twin daughters and I am planning on writing an historical fiction story based on this premise but would like more background if any exists
