This is from the 1880 US Census and the family is listed as living in Burr Oak, IA. The spelling of the last name is different, which may explain why it has been difficult tracking the family. But the ages and locations seem to line up right.

She was widowed by this time with the youngest being 4 years old, I would approximate Stephen Pearce's death as 1875-76.
