Frank Novotny
Frank Novotny passed away Saturday, March 19, 1921, at 4:00 p.m. at his home at Calmar. The deceased, born in Europe in 1849, and came to America in 1873. In 1875 he was united in marriage to Kathren Kerian and located near Calmar, where they lived until seven years ago, when he moved to Calmar. He is survived by his wife and six children. The children are Mrs. Anton Voll, Calmar, Iowa; Rudolph Novotny, Decorah, Iowa; Mrs. John Prazek, Renville, Minn.; Mrs. Fr. Balsanek, Cedar Rapids, Iowa; Louis Novotny, Conway, N.D.; Mrs. Jos. Klema, Renville, Minn. He is also survived by one brother and two sisters in this country and two sisters and two brothers in Europe. The funeral services were held on Tuesday at 9:00 a.m. at St. Aloysius church, Calmar, Iowa, and interment was made in the Catholic cemetery. None but those who have sat in the shadow of a great bereavement can justly weigh such a sorrow as this. Life will never be quite the same to his family. He was a devoted husband and a kind, indulgent father; to his friends the soul of fellowship. But, the greatest of all, he was a man. And as a man it is that those who knew him best most love to contemplate him. Those from out of town who were here for the funeral were Louis Novotny and John Kuboushek, both of Conway, North Dakota, Mrs. John Prazak and Mrs. Jos. Klema, both of Renville, Minnesota, Mrs. Frank Balsanek of Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

[Frank Novotny's siblings: John Kuboushek, Mrs. Johanna Lukas, Mrs. Frank Pavlovec.]
