Former Freeport Resident Dead.
Mrs. Lucia Sheetz{sic} died at the home of her sister Mrs. Emma Buckley, in Waukon on Monday last week, says the Democrat after a long period of ill health. She was 79 years of age and was born in New York state. She came to Waukon in her childhood with her father M. Hathaway, who was one of the early residents here. She was a widow and lived at Freeport near Decorah for years.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows her name spelled Sheets. She was born Aug. 17, 1837 and died Feb. 22, 1915. She is buried in Oakland Cemetery in Waukon, IA.
