Mrs. Lewis Lillegraven passed away Wednesday morning, March 4th, at three o'clock after an illness of three weeks, at her home in West Decorah. The cause of her death was brain fever.
The deceased's maiden name was Elizabeth Patterson. She was born on May 25, 1886, at Freeport, Iowa. Of the date of her marriage to Mr. Lillegraven we are not informed, but besides her husband she is survived by five children --- Maynard, Wendell, Physlis, Rowland and Delores, the latter a baby of twenty months. She is also survived by her aged mother, her sisters, Mrs. Lewis Monson of Decorah, and Mrs. Strayer of Cresco (all of whom were with her during her illness); Mrs. K. H. Lee, Dallas, Oregon; Mrs. R. K. Pierce, Manhattan, Mont.; Mrs. C. E. Boynton, Albemarle, N. C.; Mrs. O. A. Stinger, Cresco; Mrs. E. O. Iverson, Cresco, and her brother, Ollie Peterson, Inwood, Iowa. The case is a sad one in that Mr. Lillegraven has been absent from home for some time engaged in detective work and his present were-abouts is not known, although he was heard from recently.
