OBITUARY.
Mrs. Morgan Hostetter died on Aug 9th at her home at Ocean Park, Cal., death being caused by heart failure. The remains were brought to Ossian and the funeral was held yesterday, Aug. 17th, at the Centennial church, Rev. Elton D. Wells officiating. Mrs. Hostetter’s maiden name was Iola Jane Webster. She was born Dec. 30, 1853, at Moneek, growing to young womanhood in that vicinity. She was married in 1868 in Decorah to Ezra Schoonmaker. Nine children were born to them. Three of these (Mary, Rufus and Daisy) are deceased. The surviving children are Clara, Fred, Cora, Earl and Dana, residing in Canada, and Ioda, living at Kansas City. The deceased was married to Morgan Hostettler in 1912. Many old friends remember Mrs. Hostettler as a woman of kind heart, and devotion to her family, and in their bereavement the sympathy of many acquaintances is extended.Source: Decorah Republican Aug. 20, 1914, P5 C2
Frankville people were shocked and grieved Tuesday when the news reached here of the death of Mrs. Iola Hostetter at her home in Los Angeles, Cal. The remains were brought to Ossian where the funeral will be held to-morrow morning at 11 o’clock with interment in the Centennial cemetery.

The remains of Mrs. Hostettler nee Ezra Schoonmaker, formerly of this place arrived on Monday from Ocean Park, Cal., and was buried on Tuesday at 9 o’clock, serves being held at the M. E. church, Rev. Welsh officiating.
