OBITUARY.
Hans H. Rognlien died at his home on East Water street about noon Thursday last of heart disease, after an illness of about two weeks. Mr. Rognlien was born in Grans Prestegjaeld, Hadeland, Norway, Sept. 11, 1844. He came to America when twenty years of age and was married June 4th, 1874, to Gudbjor Aarness. They resided on their farm in Frankville township until about eighteen months ago when they came to Decorah to make their home. He is survived by his wife, two brothers (Nels of Decorah and Andreas of Madison, S. D.,) and two sisters (Mrs. Anders Brandhagen, Decorah, and Mrs. Bjerkeness, of Gunviek, Minn. Two brothers and a sister are dead. The funeral was held Monday afternoon at two o’clock at the United Lutheran church, Rev Schmidt assisted by Rev. Fjelde of Waukon, officiating and interment was made in the North Washington Prairie cemetery.
Mr. Rognlien enjoyed the respect of all who knew him, and in her bereavement his widow is sustain by the sympathy of many friends.
