Patricia Moore age 70 of Decorah, IA passed away on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester surrounded by her family.

A memorial mass will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Wednesday, August 28, 2024, at St. Pius at Cherry Mound, 699 State Forest Road, Harpers Ferry, IA 52146 with Rev. Joseph Sevcik presiding.

Visitation will be from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, at Helms Funeral Home, 306 E. Water Street in Decorah.

Patricia was born to LeRoy and Mary Kathleen (Finnegan) Mettille in Waukon, IA. Pat graduated from Waukon High school in 1972. On May 5, 1973, Pat married Paul Burroughs at St Pius Cherry Mound to this Union 2 daughters, Angie and Stephanie were born. They later divorced.

Pat worked for the JCPenney company in Waukon until the store closing, she then transferred to the Decorah store, she met her second husband John Moore while working at JC Penneys. Pat and John were married on April 17, 1993, and with this union she gained 3 stepsons and 2 stepdaughters.

Pat decided to make a transition from Penney’s and took a position at Walmart in Decorah. She worked in several departments but was most comfortable in the photo lab. After 25 plus years Pat retired from Walmart. After her retirement she busied herself with spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed traveling to places like Ireland, Alaska, Punta Cana and the Black Hills. She also enjoyed many camping adventures.

Pat is survived by her daughters, Angie (Glen) Lansing of Postville and their children Jade, Carter, Olivia and Parker. Stephanie Burroughs (Kelly Root and his children Connor & Kaelyn) of Decorah. Stepchildren: Bryan Moore and his children Marissa, Angela & Colten. Craig (Theresea)Moore and their children Sidney and Kassidy. Julie (Michael) Schlaff and their children Christopher and Connor. Adam (Stephanie) Moore and their children Mason & Levi. Abigail (Jason) Cross and their children Sydney and Brody. Siblings: John (Leona) Mettille, Linda Mettille, Butch (Debbie) Mettille and Debbie Schulte (Jody Bucheit) and many nieces and nephews. In-laws Jim & Jean Moore, Dick Moore and JoAnn Alexander and a plethora of great friends she considered family. Lastly, she will be missed by her little dog Paco.

She is proceeded in death by her husband John Moore (July 2014). Parents: LeRoy & Mary Kathleen Mettille and brother-in-law Tony Schulte.
