L. B. Whitney arrived home Tuesday night from Nebraska, where he went to attend the funeral of his brother-in-law, Sherwood Benedict.

Mrs. Will Darling left on Wednesday morning to go to Newcastle, Neb., where her sister’s husband, Sherwood Benedict, was very sick, but before leaving Decorah word was received that he had passed away. So she was accompanied on Thursday night by her brother, L. B. Whitney of Decorah.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows he was born May 24, 1851 and died March 13, 1914. He is buried in Newcastle Cemetery in Newcastle, NB.
