Joe Remke attended the funeral of John Hemesath at Fort Atkinson on Friday.

Joe Remke received the sad news last Wednesday of his brother-in-law at Ft. Atkinson. The funeral took place on Friday.

John Hemesath passed away at his home north of town of pneumonia on Tuesday, March 3. His life from early childhood had been spent on their farm. His parents were among the pioneer settlers of this county. Mr. Hemesath was born Oct. 10th, 1872, and his marriage to Miss Mary Remke occurred at Ossian in 1902. To them were born four children, the eldest passed to the Great Beyond about four years ago, and those surviving are Celia, Leo and John. He is also survived by his brothers Clemence and Tony of Ossian and Henry of Ethan, S. D., and sisters, Mrs. Herman Bohr, Mrs. Henry Bauman, Mrs. Anton Moellers and Josephine, all of Ossian. The funeral was held on Friday from the Catholic church and the remains laid to rest in the cemetery. The pall bearers were John and Wm. Sluks, James Doubek, Chas. Pavlovec, Mat Houdek and A. J. Schreiber.
