OBITUARY.
Mrs. Wells Emery died Saturday morning last at 3 o’clock at her home in Canoe township, the cause of her death being pneumonia. Mrs. Emery’s maiden name was Mary Drake and she was born in Devonshire, England, fifty-five years ago. She came to this country with her mother in childhood. Her marriage to Mr. Emery occurred in Bluffton April 1, 1880. Besides her husband she is survived by seven children,--four daughters and three sons. The funeral was held Tuesday at 10 o’clock, Rev. Wellington McVettie officiating, and burial was made in Phelps cemetery. Mrs. Emery was a devoted wife and mother and her presence in the family circle will be greatly missed.

Mrs. Wells Emery passed away last Saturday morning after an illness of about two weeks.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows she was born in 1853 and died Feb. 13, 1914. Her age as stated above does not agree with the above dates.
