OBITUARY.
LANDON.
Zophar B. Landon, son of William and Mary Landon, was born in Litchfield Co. Conn., on Feb. 12, 1832. At the age of 21 he went to Kent, Ohio, where on Aug. 11, 1859, he married Emogene Slayton, who preceded him to the better land Dec. 20, 1909. After a year, spent in Kentucky, they came to Burr Oak, settling on a farm one mile west of the village. There they lived until the fall of 1896, when they moved into the village. Here he lived until 4 years ago, when he came to live with his daughter, Mrs. E. Pollitt, at Cresco. From her home he was called to the Home Triumphant Sept. 9, 1918. Three daughters—Mrs. E. Pollitt, of Cresco; Mrs. N. W. Porter, of Mason City, and Mrs. M. F. Price, of Burr Oak, together with 14 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren are left to mourn a kind and loving parent.
