OBITIUARY.
Sister M. Gudelia (Anna Swartz), daughter of Matt. Swartz, died Sunday, June 16, 1918, at the Mother House of the Sisters of St. Frances at Milwaukee, after an illness of about a year, during which time she was unable to attend to her duties as a teacher. The remains were brought to the home of her father, Tuesday morning, June 18th, and the funeral took place Friday, June 21st, at 10 o’clock at St. Wenceslaus Church. She was laid to rest beside her mother who preceded her in death about eight years ago. Revs. Dostal, of Tama, and Panek, of Dubuque, officiated. Those who bore her to her last resting place were Sisters from Ft. Atkinson and Protivin, and they were accompanied by sixteen flower girls.

She leaves to mourn her loss, her father, one brother, Frank, and sisters, Frances, Mrs. Chizek, of Waucoma, Mary, a registered nurse, of Cedar Rapids, and Celia at home.
The deceased was born at Spillville, Iowa, April 12, 1885. On October 12, 1907, she entered the Order of St. Frances in which she labored until death. She was of a quiet and retiring disposition but was loved by all who knew her. She will be missed by her surviving relatives, but the memory of her true Christian life will make their lives fuller even in their loneliness. May she rest in peace.

Earth has lost her look of gladness,
Heaven seems to her more bright,
Since the spirit of our dear one
Took her happy, homeward flight.

And we long to cross the river,
Long to rest upon that shore,
There to see, and know; and love her.
With the Saviour, evermore.

CARD OF THANKS.

Gudelia (Swartz), and we also thank the Sisters, Rev. Fathers, and all others who in any way assisted us in the time of our bereavement. MATH. SWARTZ AND FAMILY.
