OBITUARY.
The death of Frank Shileny occurred Saturday afternoon, May 4th, after an illness of about a year, the cause of his death being diabetes.
The deceased was born in 1848 at Pukarec, Austria. When he arrived in this country at the age of 19 years, he settled in Jackson Twp., Winneshiek County, where he spent most of his life.
On May 12, 1874, he was united in marriage to Katherine Silhachek at Spillville, Iowa, and to this union eleven children were born. The wife died in 1899 and in 1900 he was united in marriage with Marie Partl, from near Manly, who survives him; one child, Emma, was born to this union. He is also survived by two sisters.
The deceased with his wife and daughter moved here about two years ago to spend his declining years. He was a kind father and royal neighbor and will be sadly missed by all who knew him. The grief-stricken wife and children have the sympathy of the entire community.
Funeral services were held Tuesday morning at 10 o’clock at St. Wenceslaus Church Rev. J. P. Broz officiating. Interment was made in St. Wenceslaus Cemetery. May he rest in peace.
