Alice Catherine Peters, age 94, of West Union, Iowa passed away Wednesday, March 27, 2024 surrounded by her family at Stoney Brook Village in West Union.

Alice was born on May 6, 1929 in Festina, Iowa to Bernard and Dora (Tieskoetter) Busch. She attended parochial school in Festina. On May 14, 1946 she married Leo Brincks and he passed away in 1975. She then married William Peters on December 3, 1977 until he passed away in 2008. Alice and Leo had four children, Dianna (Lloyd) Patrick of Oelwein, Duane (Ann) Brincks of Algona, Doris (Alan) Boess of Hawkeye, Debra (Tom) Mayo of Hawkeye and a stepson Steve Peters of West Union, twelve grandchildren, twenty-five great-grandchildren, eight great-great grandchildren and one on the way.

Alice farmed near West Union for many years before moving to town. Alice loved dancing, listening to polka music, reading, Counted Cross Stitching, playing bingo, playing cards, puzzle books and spending time with family. Alice loved being a homemaker and raising her family.

Alice was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, Leo Brincks and William Peters, six siblings and two step-children.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, April 3, 2024 at Holy Name Catholic Church, 128 N. Walnut St., West Union, Iowa. A visitation will be at the church from 9:30 AM until time of mass.

Interment will be at Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery in West Union.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Gundersen/Palmer Hospice.

Burnham-Wood-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service of West Union, Iowa is assisting the family with arrangements.
